Breeders’ Cup World Championship
November 1-2
The iconic grounds of Del Mar Thoroughbred Club will be filled with fans and participants from around the globe as Thoroughbred racing’s greatest horses, owners, trainers, breeders, and jockeys gather to compete in the 2024 Breeders’ Cup World Championships. Featuring 14 Grade 1 races and more than $34 million in purses and awards, the World Championships are the pinnacle of the season, helping determine year-end honors via two action-packed days of racing.
San Diego Food & Wine Festival
November 2-10
Sailboats and sandy beaches serve as the backdrop to one of the country’s most talked about weeks in food. Featuring dozens of events, hundreds of domestic and international wineries, this celebration of craft beer and spirits, local culinary legends and nationally acclaimed chefs will welcome more than 300 chefs, wineries, farmers, artists and brands over the course of the week.
Dia de Los Muertos Festival

For 29 years, the annual Oakland Día de los Muertos Festival has welcomed tens of thousands of visitors to the vibrant, culturally rich Fruitvale neighborhood for a free, outdoor, family-friendly event taking place to commemorate the Mexican traditions around the Día de los Muertos. Festival attendees enjoy world-class live music, family-friendly games, rides and activities, traditional Latin American artisans, and the stunning altars created by community members paying homage to los Muertos.
Star Wars in Concert

Presented by the LA Phil at Walt Disney Concert Hall, experience the entire Star Wars saga through specially edited film clips and the power of John Williams’ unforgettable music, hosted by the man inside C-3PO, Anthony Daniels!
Festival of Lights

Kelly & Duane Roberts, owners and Keepers of the Inn, continue the cherished annual tradition that they first created in 1992 as a gift back to the community. The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa’s Festival of Lights is one of the nation’s largest holiday light collections. Every year, the Inn’s festival gains new energy, grows in popularity and ushers in an increasing number of visitors to the Riverside area.
Doo Dah Parade
November 24
Known as the twisted sister of the conventional Rose Parade, the Occasional Pasadena Doo Dah Parade began as a grassroots event in 1978 and over the past decades has gained national attention for its eccentric and, often, irreverent satire. The parade which has spawned numerous off-beat replicants across the country was even highlighted in the Wall Street Journal in 2015. It was also named “America’s Best Parade” by Reader’s Digest, and was featured in the book 50 Places You Must Visit Before You Die.
